MIcroneedling

Also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that uses tiny needles to cause “wounds” to the skin to induce collagen production. This procedure helps to improve acne scars, enlarged pores, pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. It is considered safe for most people who are in overall good health condition. A topical numbing cream is applied to make the treatment comfortable. It typically takes anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours for the entire procedure. At the end of the treatment, your skin feels like “sunburned” and may be red for a few hours. Then the next couple of days, your skin feels tight as it goes through skin rejuvenation. After a couple days, you’ll notice your skin to appear bright and firmer and feels smooth. The benefits can be noticed after one session, but ideal results can be achieved through multiple sessions, depending on the goal.

At my studio, my microneedling service covers the face and neck. I may have to do extra passes on target areas, depending on what we discuss prior to the treatment. Sometimes, microneedling is combined with peel to target hyperpigmentation or dark spots. Check out this video of my microneedling with peel (https://youtu.be/ANCw8L0mdAU) or here (https://youtu.be/TEaBgli1yHU).

Until my next post.
